Hey there!
Love how it looks, and I really like the idea behind it.
But I have some mixed feelings about how the Tetris and tower defense mechanics interact. If I’m focusing on Tetris, I don’t end up with enough towers. If I’m placing towers, I’m not really playing Tetris.
Also, there’s no way to recover if I’ve merged too many rows before nightfall. It feels like there should be buffs or bonuses for merging lines, to make this combination shine. Right now, there’s not much incentive to do it.
That said, I really enjoyed the idea overall. Thanks for the game!
The tower level is leveled up by merging lines. It increases their health, damage etc. To scale for the later waves you need a lot of levels or your towers get shredded like paper.
But it is not the most balanced/perfectly tweaked I ended up solving a major bug in the game that wildly swung the balance while I was implementing the 2x2 towers (turned out 2 1x1 towers were spawning on each tile and were doing double the damage they should cause double the attacks), and I didn't have time to tweak the balance much better after.
Oh! I've suspected it intuitively :D
But it's a type of game I would definitely play even outside of a jam. Core idea is lit and would be great to see some further development!
pretty cool bro, especially the visuals and post processing
Thank you for playing! 💛
Like the idea here, I didn't play many Tetris games, but this take feels fresh and fun! I was thinking it would be cool to try to see making 2048 game with this, combining colored shapes into higher level turrets or something like that. Nice take!
Thank you very much my friend!
Fantastic game and playability.
Damned be the rocking music <3
Thanks Rami I am glad you enjoyed the soundtrack! 💛
